Explosion-proof and Weatherproof Lighting Fixture

Explosion-Proof Lighting Fixtures for Industrial Projects

MAM supplies explosion-proof lighting fixtures for industrial facilities, equipment installations and maintenance applications. Our range covers LED linear lights, floodlights, general lighting fixtures, tank and vessel inspection lights, and portable hand lamps. Weatherproof lighting is also available for projects requiring protection against moisture and outdoor exposure.

What is an explosion-proof light fixture?

Explosion proof lighting fixture is lighting fixtures with explosion-proof performance, used in hazardous places where flammable gases and dust exist, and can prevent arcs, sparks and high temperatures that may be generated inside the lamp to ignite flammable gases and dust in the surrounding environment, so as to meet explosion-proof requirements of lamps. There are mainly explosion-proof light fixture, safety explosion-proof lamps, mobile explosion-proof lamps and lanterns.

MAM produces customized explosion-proof lighting fixtures and offers a range of explosion-proof products to provide you with all explosion-proof solutions.

Product suitability depends on the selected model and configuration. Provide your site requirements when requesting a recommendation so that the relevant specifications can be checked before ordering.

Waterproof Fluorescent Light Fixtures for Wet Environments

For projects requiring a waterproof fluorescent light fixture, the MFS1002-B weatherproof fluorescent lighting series provides IP66 protection, a PC housing and SS304 buckles. T8 fluorescent configurations include 18W, 36W and 58W lamps, with single- and twin-lamp options.

This series offers a separate selection route for moisture-exposed lighting applications. When a location also has hazardous-area requirements, provide the required classification so that the selected fixture’s explosion-protection documentation can be checked separately from its ingress-protection rating.

Scope of application of explosion-proof lamps

Explosion proof lighting lamps are suitable for fixed lighting in flammable and explosive places such as petrochemical devices, oil platforms, gas stations, oil pump rooms, transfer stations, pharmaceutical plants, food factories, flour mills, etc.; Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive gas atmosphere; Flammable dust environment in Zone 21 and Zone 22; The temperature group is T1-T6 environment.

Types of explosion-proof lamps fixture

1. There are many types of explosion-proof lamps and lanterns, which are divided into explosion-proof fluorescent lamps, explosion-proof floodlights, explosion-proof induction lamps, explosion-proof lamps, explosion-proof LED lamps, explosion-proof platform lights, explosion-proof street lights, etc.

2. Explosion-proof emergency lamps: mainly used for emergency use in flammable and explosive places, divided into explosion-proof sign lamps, explosion-proof emergency lighting lamps, etc.

3. Explosion-proof signal lamps: mainly used for command signals in flammable and explosive places, divided into explosion-proof sound and light alarm lights and explosion-proof aviation signal lights.

4. Explosion-proof and anti-corrosion lamps: mainly used in flammable, explosive and corrosive places: divided into security-increasing explosion-proof anti-corrosion lamps, stainless steel explosion-proof anti-corrosion lamps and so on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which explosion-proof light fixture should I choose?

Start with the site’s hazardous-area requirements, then compare lighting output, electrical supply, environmental conditions and installation arrangements. Share these details with MAM to request a suitable model recommendation.

Are all explosion proof lights suitable for both gas and dust environments?

Suitability varies by model. Check the selected fixture’s gas and dust markings, temperature limits and supporting documentation against the installation requirements.

Can explosion-proof LED lights include emergency backup?

Selected models support emergency configurations. MAMF01 linear light fittings can be equipped with an emergency device on request. Specify the required backup duration when enquiring.

Is a waterproof fluorescent light fixture automatically explosion-proof?

No. A waterproof or IP rating addresses ingress protection; hazardous-area suitability requires separate verification. If both are required, specify both conditions when selecting the fixture.

What information is needed for a quotation for Ex proof lights?

Provide the required lighting type, quantity, project destination, hazardous-area requirements, supply voltage, mounting arrangement and environmental conditions. Include any emergency lighting or documentation requirements.

Explosion-proof lighting fixtures are often used in conjunction with explosion-proof electrical equipment. There are also explosion-proof junction boxes and control panels for you to choose from, so you are welcome to contact us.
